Genius

On the subject of TV-related merchandise it pretty much comes down to typically unimaginative selections of tee-shirts, mugs, and posters. Action figures and bobbleheads are sometimes included, leading a vast selection of toys if the show in question is, you know, for kids.

But then, listed on the NBC Universal Store website there’s this:

Which is pure fucking genius, even if, irritatingly, it’s a limited-edition, exclusive for the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con.

Talking of one of my favourite TV shows and favourite model companies, did you see this from Sideshow collectibles:

Yup it's lifesize (7 foot). And yup that is a price that's just short of eight thousand dollars!

Been to Comic-Con three times. The first year was great and was the first year Hollywood hit it big time (without pre-announcing they would). The second year was not fun - they preannounced the Hollywood celebrities and literally hundreds of thousands of people turned up, all trying to see interview panels in a room that only holds 6000 :-O The third year was even worse and my idea of hell. I wouldn't go again if you paid me obscene amounts of money, but have friends who still go each year so if you REALLY want that toaster let me know - I'm sure someone can get one for you.

I think I'd be eyeing it suspiciously, most of the time..

"Did you just see the toaster move..? Why is the inside pulsing red like that.."

Ian, oh that’s excellent. And, given the current exchange rate, not bad*.

A pal in LA went down to San Diego the year before last, I think it was, and said it took quite a time getting there and then was a real crush. I read somewhere that the BBC have a booth there, so.....

Of course there’s always the chance of bumping into this fellow who obviously sees the fun side to it all.

Thanks for the offer, but I think I’ll pass.

* This is based on anyone having four grand to spare.
