On The Way

The new year typically brings a new television season filled with all manner of programmes clamouring for the audience’s attention after the bloated indulgences bulking up the Christmas schedules. Naturally, as with everything, it’s a typically hit and miss affair.

Too often the repetitious trailers can be off-putting, well before the programme airs, by tiresomely piling on all manner of flash, bang and codswallop, like shaking brightly coloured baubles in a baby’s face. Then there are shows that place the importance of story and character above spectacle...

You're just trying to piss off those of us who can only watch the show on shiny disc, and have just watched "Razor" only to find we're probably going to have to wait the best part of a year to resolve the bombshell dropped in that episode, aren't you?!

Oh well in the meantime at least I've got Torchwood to keep me going (that was a joke people, nothing to see here, move along).

Ah yes, Torchwood.

What a pity the British Comedy Awards were cancelled, it would have swept the boards (Funniest Script...Funniest Acting...Funniest Score...Funniest Wardrobe...Funniest Special Effects...Funniest Means of Transportation, etc.).

Meanwhile The Sarah Connor Chronicles has debuted in the States to record numbers and great reviews.

I know which programme I'll be making time for this year.
